How does this on-line program work?

  1. This course is composed of 35 unit/Chapters.  Each unit has four sections: Reading Assignment, Interactive Exercises, Reading Comprehensive Quiz and a Unit Exam.
  2. Each unit/Chapter has Reading Assignment.  The course is designed with learning objectives so as the student goes through the unit, the student knows what the objectives are.
  3. Every Reading Comprehension Quiz needs to completed as does each Unit Exams. The student needs to obtain 100% on the Reading Comprehensive quizzes and a minimum of 90% on the Unit Exams. This is the most important part of this course, because as the student works through these modules it demonstrates mastery of the course.
  4. A student can move on to the next unit without passing the previous one but they won't be able to access the final exam until everything is complete and passed.
  5. The student must complete all quizzes before moving to the Final Exam.
  6. The course final exam has 150 multiple choice questions and the student needs to score a 75% on the Exam.
  7. The end-of-course exam must be proctored.  Both the student and the proctor must sign and complete an Affidavit.  Here is the link to the "Student's Affidavit" and here is the link to the "Proctor's Affidavit".
  8. Before the student gets credit for the completion of the course the student must mail in the two Notarized Affidavits and the final exam and answer sheet.

Information the student needs to know before taking this course.

  1. Once the student purchases this course, the student CAN NOT get a refund.
  2. This CD-ROM course does not require additional textbook support and NO additional course material is needed. Students can order supplemental study material by going to the On-Line Cooke Bookstore or by calling the school at 800/943-9993.
  3. The CD-Rom version of the Salesperson License Course requires the student to spend the required number of hours taking the course.  A passing grade of 75% is necessary for passing the course.
  4. This course is totally web based. The student can work through the course at the student's convenience. Once the student signs up for the course it is good for one year.
  5. This course is NOT designed to be printed for security purposes and copyright regulations.  Students can purchase the textbook for the course at the Cooke Bookstore.
  6. If the student plans to move the CD-Rom from one computer to another as they work through the course, the student should take the On-Line course version rather than the CD-Rom course version.  The student course data is written to the computer hard drive so the student must complete all the course on one computer.
  7. The CD-ROM Distance Learning student CAN NOT change to an On-Line course course for certification without paying the full tuition fee of $295 again.
  8. Every CD-ROM student must agree to the following affidavit: "I certify that I personally completed each assigned module of instruction and that my work in this course will be based on my own personal efforts, unassisted by any unauthorized individual or resource.  I understand that receiving unauthorized assistance or tampering with course results will invalidate my course credit and may be a cause of action under the real estate laws and regulations of the Commonwealth of Virginia." Here is a link to this important Student Affidavit.
  9. When completing the Course on the CD-Rom, the student will be directed to upload final results via an Internet Connection to the RECampus servers. It is important that the student keeps a record of the serial number of the CD-Rom. This serial number is a MANDATORY and unique identifier that facilitates the transfer of the course information to the school. The serial number is the 13 digit number that appears on the back of the case in a long, white, rectangular box under the Bar Code.
  10. Upon completing the course, RECampus posts for Cooke Real Estate School a daily report of student's completing the CD-Rom version of the course.  The staff at Cooke reviews this report daily, Monday through Thursday.
  11. The student is encourage to call the school to let the school be aware that they have completed the CD-Rom portion of the course and the student is ready to take the Proctored End-of-Course Exam.  The end-of course exam must be proctored.
  12. The student must find a person, who is NOT a relative or a person who would NOT benefit from the student having a real estate license to proctor the student taking the end-of-course exam.  The name of the proctor and the proctor's address must be faxed to the school at 1-866-280-5948.  The school will mail the exam and the answer sheets and the exam directions to the proctor.
  13. Once the exam is completed by the student, the proctor must mail the exam and answer sheet along with the "Proctor's Notarized Affidavit" and the "Student's Notarized Affidavit" and the exam and answer sheet to the school for grading.
  14. The exam will be graded and upon successful completion of the exam with all documents in order, the completion certificate will be mailed to the student.  All exams and certificates will be mailed to those students who have successfully received a grade of 75% or better on the end-of-course exam.  Allow three to four business days to receive this completion certificate.
  15. The school student records are kept for five years from the date of the completion of the course.  Student records include the student's name, the address, license number, social security number, date of enrollment, course title, records of completion of the various unit/chapter quizzes, time spend on each  unit, copies of course material including timeline and objectives, plus copies of end-of course exam and all Affidavits.
