In
2003, the General Assembly of Virginia passed
legislation to require licensees to complete 30
Hours of continuing education prior the first
renewal. The new law came effective January
1, 2004.
There
are three different tracks that a student may
take to satisfy the 30 Hour Post Requirement.
The three tracks are 1) the residential real estate
track 2) the commercial real estate track and
3) the property management track.
Each track requirement has a Mandatory requirement
and an Elective requirement. Once a licensee selects
a track, the student must complete the Mandatory
hours within that track. The student may
the elective hours in the same track or choose
electives from another track.
This web
site has only available the The Residential Real
Estate Track . |
|
- This 30 Hour Residential Post
License Real Estate Course is divided into two
different sections: 1) Mandatory 15 Hours Course.
2) Elective 15 Hours which is composed
of a three different modules.
- The Mandatory course is composed
of five (5) different courses. The Mandatory
Course includes a module on Ethics, Real Estate
Law, Fair Housing, Agency Law and a module called
Offer to Purchase. Each of these modules
contains an End-of-Module Exam.
- The Elective course is composed
of three difference modules: Land Use &
Property Valuation, Business Planning &
Technology Issues and Selling Process &
Financing Properties Course
- Each module has four sections:
Reading Assignment, Interactive Exercises, Reading
Comprehensive Quizzes.
- Each unit/Chapter has Reading
Assignment. The course is designed with
learning objectives so as the student goes through
the unit, the student knows what the objectives
are.
- Every Reading Comprehension
Quiz needs to completed. The course will
tell you the score needed to pass the unit.
This is the most important part of this course,
because as the student works through these modules
it demonstrates mastery of the course.
- A student can move on to the
next unit without passing the previous one but
the student will not be able to access the final
exam of the individual course until everything
is complete and passed.
- The exam is multiple four
choice exam. The student must score a
75% or more on the end-of-course exam for each
of the courses.
|
|
- Once the student purchases
this course, the student CAN NOT get a refund
.
- This On-Line course does not
require additional textbook support and NO additional
course material is needed.
- This course is totally web
based. The student can work through the course
at the student's convenience. Once the student
signs up for the course it is good for one year.
- This course is NOT designed
to be printed for security purposes and copyright
regulations.
- At the time of registration
for the On-Line Distance Learning Course, the
student will receive an e-mail from Dearborn's
RECampus, verifying the student's registration.
- The On-Line course can be
taken and is available up to a year from the
time of registration.
- The student must obtain a grade
of 75% or better on each of the end-of-course
exams.
- The course exam is embedded
into the course and does NOT required a Proctor.
In Virginia, the only required course
that needs the end-of-course exam proctored
is the Pre-license Courses.
- When the student completes
all Elective and Mandatory portions of the 30
Hour Course and the embedded final exam in each
of the modules with a score of 75% or more on
each of the end-of-course exams, the student
needs to mail the notarized "Student
Affidavit" to the school. The
school will then notify the Virginia Real Estate
Board and will mail the student the completion
certificate within 3 business days. Here is
the link for the mailing
address .
